Become a Professional Ayurvedic Spa- and PanchaKarma Technician and join our new 300-hour, comprehensive Certification Training!
September 2nd, 2023 to February 10th, 2024
Join us for this is an immersive training, designed for those who wish to implement the artful treatment techniques of Ayurveda into their private healing practice, clinic or spa. The training includes a series of 12-online classes (LEVEL 1) held over the course of 3-month. The 12-online classes include a professional manual, a rich collection of high-end treatment demo videos and access to a lively student forum.
The training also includes a 14-day practicum (LEVEL 2&3) for live, hands-on learning in Santa Barbara, CA, with experienced PanchaKarma expert, senior bodyworker and longtime practitioner, Corinna Maharani. The 14-day practicum is a workshop retreat, a time to observe, give and receive all the wonderful treatment modalities that we are covering in this training, including; Abhyanga, Svedana, Marma, Shirodhara, external Basti, Netra, Nasya, Pinda, Udvartana, Lepana, Upanaham and Pichu. The workshop retreat will be held for respectively 2 to 6 students at a time and the date is scheduled individually for each student during the initial 3-month period of the training.
Following this, students receive an additional 3-month of guided supervision (LEVEL 4) in order to gain the needed experience and confidence before graduating from the training. This last part will be done remotely. Students will practice the learned material on friends and family, receive feedback and discuss their progress with the instructor.
The 300-hour of professional training includes LEVEL 1-4 and takes a total of 6-month to complete.

Modalities you will learn in the 14-Day Workshop Retreats
You will learn the clinical application of the five major actions of Pancha Karma (Vamana, Virechana, Vasti, Nasya and Rakta Mokshana) during the LEVEL 1 training. The workshop retreats (LEVEL 2 and LEVEL 3) are very interactive and fully immersive and offer greater insights into the depth of this ancient healing science.
You will study, practice and also receive the ancient healing treatments in a beautiful and restorative workshop setting. You will explore the fundamentals of Marma Therapy, learn the complete set of Ayurvedic Sense Therapies, Dry/Wet Udvartana, Lepas, Silk-Glove Massage, Indian Head Massage, Foot Treatment, and Ayurvedic Facials. Students will also learn the following classic Pancha Karma treatments:
Abhyanga
is the classic Ayurvedic oil massage that uses the skillful application of medicinal oils with specific nurturing strokes. It activates the energetic centers (Marma points), breaks up impurities, and stimulates arterial and lymphatic circulation. Learn how to perform this treatment alone and in synchrony with another technician.
Swedhana
is an herbal medicinal steam therapy that can be administered locally to specific body parts or for the entire physiology. (Except for the head, which is always kept cool). It allows oils to penetrate deeply into the tissues and also removes toxins.
Shirodhara
is the pouring of medicinal liquids (oil, buttermilk, ghee) across the forehead. It specifically nurtures the pituitary gland and therefor relaxes the entire nervous system by brining the whole being, body-mind-spirit, to feeling a profound sense of peace and calm.
Marma Therapy
Learn the fundamental principles of Marma Therapy and how to locate them and how to use sound, touch, aroma and intention to direct the flow of Prana (Life-force) for profound healing. Apply Marma therapy for clinical practice during PanchaKarma or as a extra relaxing technique during bodywork.
Udvartana
is a brisk massage that uses herbal powders and pastes to stimulate the release of toxins and supports the removal of excess fatty tissue. Udvartana can be used dry or when mixed with oils. It stimulates the lymphatic fluids to cleanse while the herbs absorb deeply into the skin, further detoxing the body.
Pinda Swedhna
is a cooling therapy using herbal rice bolus bags warmed in a specialized milk decoction and vigorously massaged into the skin to reduce inflammation and rejuvenate the body.
Nasya
is the classic sinus and nasal treatment designed to open up the channels of the upper body to allow more Pranic energy to enter. It includes an enlivening Indian head massage, localized steam, and the use of an assortment of nasal concoctions.
Netra Tarpana
involves the use of a variety of methods and techniques such as the bathing of the eyes in ghee, eye drops, and purification through herbal smoke to alleviate eye conditions.
Karna Purana
uses a specific ear massage and the application of herbal decoctions to relieve earaches and other ear related problems.

Certification and Credits
The Pancha Karma Vocational / Technical Training consists of a total of 300 professional training hours, that takes as little as six months to complete. This includes 12 online, virtual classes LEVEL 1 and a 14-Day Workshop Retreats for hands-on learning, LEVEL 2 &3. After that follows a 3-month period of supervised, continued learning (LEVEL 4), done remotely.
The 300 hours are comprised as followed:
LEVEL 1 - 12 online classes--50 hrs
Plus related reading, tests, homework and study assignments--150 hrs
LEVEL 2 and 3 - 14 Day Workshop Retreats--80 hrs
LEVEL 4 - Supervised remote practicum--20 hrs
Cost: Complete training with LEVEL 1, 2, 3 and 4 is $4,250
Students will receive professional certification, verifying their highest level of expertise upon completion:
Certified PanchaKarma Technician (CPT): Granted to all who complete the Pancha Karma Vocational/Technical training. CPT’s may administer Pancha Karma with the guidance of a Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner (CAP), Ayurvedic doctor, or Vaidya. Technicians are able to administer a wide variety of healing modalities at a spa, clinic, or private practice. In most states, in order to legally offer massage therapy, students must have a massage license, but most other therapies of services such as Shirodhara, Marma etc. can be performed without a massage license.
Ayurveda Bodyworker (AVB): In addition to receiving a CPT, the licensed massage therapist will also be granted an AVB. This certification allows students to practice all individual bodywork techniques.
Ayurveda Spa Technician (AST): In addition to receiving a CPT, facialist will also be granted an AST. This allows students to practice all Spa related techniques in a professional setting.
Pancha Karma Therapist (PKT): In addition to receiving a CPT, Ayurvedic Practitioners and Vaidyas and Ayurvedic Doctors will be granted a PKT. Students with a PKT can also prescribe Pancha Karma treatments as an adjunct to their other treatment plans.

The Maharani Academy™ always keeps abreast with the highest educational standards and is an organizational/educational member, approved by N.A.M.A..
We provide students with continuing education credits, or PACE credits. Through taking this training, students can earn NAMA PACE credits after completion of the program. (Note: Students need to be Student members of the organization in order to receive PACE credits).
The Maharani Academy™ is also proud to be an AABC approved school. AABC gives accredited schools like ours the chance to help in the active development of novel research to improve consistency and accuracy of Biocharacteristics medical models.
